Alright! More graphs and statistics! To kick us off, now that we only have eight songs, I thought it might be a little cleaner to redo the graph and show everyone what’s going on, do some trends, do some voter highlights, etc, etc, etc….basically things that are more fun to do on a waning Friday than teach myself how to use Adobe inDesign (ugh. what is this thing.)
Alright voters, the Sweet Sixteen is over and we have pared the field down to an Elite Eight. I’ll be handing that round back over to Janos, who steps in as an administrator starting tomorrow evening with the release of the first two match-ups.
Votes due Thursday, April 21st at 8:00 PM EST: While scores continue to come in on the fates of songs on the left side of the Final Bracket, we are going ahead and starting the votes for the right side. Of these eight amazing songs, only four will go on to the next round to join the Most Elite Eight.
Votes due Wednesday, April 20th at 8 pm EST. Are you excited? I’m excited. I have been waiting for months to see how this final bracket would shake out. Now that it has been finalized, I am not disappointed. To date we have had 101 individual voters at one point or another submit scores on 45 play-in match-ups, 256 first round match-ups, 128 second round match-ups, 64 Division Quarterfinals, 32 Division Semifinals, and 16 Division Finals. Strange to think after all 541 of these contests, we only have 15 more match-ups on which to vote before we have our Tournament Champion. I agree with Garcia’s oft-quoted line from “Truckin'”- lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip it’s been. And it’s not over yet.
