LTDMT III: Fall 2011 Covers Tournament

Rules: It’s a covers tournament. As in songs that artists covered that they didn’t originally perform. Yes, we know most of Motown was covers. So please use your discretion in nominating. We will veto songs that we feel are borderline or just not fair. In Janos’s words, “if you stopped someone on the street and asked them who sang ______ and they responded with the person that did the cover, then it will probably get vetoed.”

For example, these four songs DEFINITELY won’t get in:

Twist and Shout, The Beatles
Hallelujah, Jeff Buckley
Hurt, Johnny Cash
All Along The Watchtower, Jimi Hendrix

So, get thinking and go to town. Each individual has one nomination in each of the three nomination rounds. Each round lasts a week. See below:

Round 1: 9/13/11 at 9:00 PM to 9/20/11 at 9:00 PM
Round 2: 9/20/11 at 9:00 PM to 9/24/11 at 9:00 PM
Round 3: 9/24/11 at 9:00 PM to 9/28/11 at 9:00 PM

Tournament Launch:  10/1/11 at 8:00 PM
