Oof. I haven’t been keeping this statistic through the tournament, but the sum of the absolute values of the difference in scores for all five match-ups is 118.5. In other words, every single winner completely ran away with their match-up. Posting the highest score of the day was Piece of My Heart, making mincemeat of Skinny Love, 120.5-85. Of note, this is the second time I’ve seen where a nominator has given the opponent a higher score than their own nomination and noted it in his comment- this speaks volumes to the credibility of all of us as voters. And at any rate, Janis absolutely killed it and holds the 2 seed (8.03 average) for now in Division O, with tomorrow’s votes still to come.
The closest match-up of the day was Elvis jailhouse rocking all over Dave Matthews Band’s Two Step, 97.25-80.5.
Say It Ain’t So said it ain’t gonna be so, Comfortably Numb. 119-97.
Dream On said dream on, Great Leap Forward, 113.5-86.25.
Last, Proud Mary…well it doesn’t work this time. Proud Mary beat Safe European Home, 106-89.
Out of the tournament: Bon Iver, Dave Matthews Band, Billy Bragg. Pink Floyd finishes the Round of 512 2-2. The Clash goes to 4-3 with one left.
