This is pretty dramatic, but I liked this Les Friction song better than the one earlier in the tourney.
UGK or Underground Kings, are from Texas. They came around in the early 90’s and were pretty instrumental in getting the south recognized for their style of hip-hop along with the Geto Boys, who were another big group from Houston. What really put Bun B and Pimp C on the map outside of the south was that feature on Big Pimpin’. I believe they released about 7 albums before Pimp C died of an accidental overdose a few years ago. My personal favorite album of theirs is Ridin’ Dirty from 1996. I’m pretty sure that Bun B is still putting out music.

Haven’t been a fan of Timbaland since his first album with Magoo. What’s My Name just brings back great memories of the early ’90s. One of the first tapes I ever bought and I wore Doggystyle out. A great song from a great album.

Asking Alexandria isn’t terrible I’ve heard much worse metal before. Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter is really where my disdain for Jay-Z started to grow. I didn’t really like Big Pimpin’ when I first heard it on the album and hearing it ad nauseum on the radio didn’t help at all. Damn shame too because I do love Bun B and Pimp C (UGK). Torture didn’t do a whole lot for me. It was neither bad nor great, but relatively easy to listen to. Skinny Love is a solid track from a man who thought it would be a good idea to lock himself into a cabin in the woods for three months.

MED is like a combination of two styles of music that I really don’t like- screaming with heavy guitar and whiny Fallout Boy songs. With Big Pimpin’, thank you Chelby for being heads up enough to make sure I used the extended version (the one with the secret Pamela Anderson Lee verse); I echo Salem’s sentiment of nostalgia.

I’ll give it to Les Friction to have the following Brian May quote on their website: ”NOBODY, but NOBODY, out there, is doing stuff like Les Friction is doing. Nobody dares!” That said, to me Skinny Love is the anthem of Minnesota in late October, and that’s a hard one to beat.
I’m pushing Timbaland up to 8.1, I love this song.

I thought Torture was a bit grandiose; a bit forced. I previously nominated Skinny Love as a wildcard entry into one of these tournaments: I love it and it really does cut straight through me somehow – very powerful song.
