Taco?
Results coming to you from lovely Portland, OR! Yes I am temporarily joining our regulars Aiko and G in the Pacific Northwest, where almost immediately upon boarding the train to downtown I felt less judged for my in-progress winter beard than I ever do in the DMV, which I’m coming to realize is a pretty socially conservative place. Or at least my co-workers at the university are. Struggles. Anyways, only one song to the Wall of 10’s (which I really should get around to making at some point, but let’s get into it.)
Our closest match of the night was the one it should have been- the 32 vs. 33 slugfest between JC Brooks and Taco (pictured above. Yes that is Mr. Taco.) I am prepping this in advance so hopefully I don’t have to replace the picture- as of now, he owns the slightest upset possible as “Puttin’ On The Ritz” defeats “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart,” 134.45-131.9.
No Cinderella of Cinderella stories tonight- “Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World” defeats “Common People,” 163.23-120.1. Shatner improved from his earlier 4.35 to a 5.72, while the Hawaiian dropped from his 8.07 to a 7.77. Still the second highest average in the entire tournament to date. Yawn.

Elvis finds it hard to believe that neither Simon nor Nelson even ASKED him if it was ok for them to stop by Graceland. Or he would have had he been alive for the release of the Graceland album.
On the bottom side, nothing too notable- “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” eliminates “Good Lovin’,” 145.25-120.6 while “Graceland” trumps “Pursuit of Happiness,” 140-124.2. Willie Nelson will be trying to do his best Taco impression next round of upsetting the song one seed higher.
