Wow wow wow. I can’t think of a better way to finish this Round than to have one of these match-ups be decided by 0.06 points. I don’t think anything like that has ever happened in the history of music tournaments. Since the dawn of time. Wow. On to the results…
To start, as you may have guessed by my choice of picture, “Paradise By The Dashboard Light” pushed Salt N Pepa right out of the way, 146.85-129.05. Both songs with a bit of sexual innuendo, but the People seemed to prefer the narrative Lover’s Lane ballad of Meat Loaf over the direct request for pushing from the female rap trio.

America- not just two continents
High score of the night goes to “Sister Golden Hair,” which maintains a steady lead over “Moonshine Whiskey” and cruises to the next round, 171.55-146.10. America’s first appearance in an LTD tourney is a successful one, as they post a 7.15 average.
Now to the nailbiters. We’ll leave the best for last, but on the bottom of the bracket Bob Dylan and Frankie Valli traded leads all day…and not for the first time this tournament, a nominator sweeps in with the decisive vote with minutes to go. Team Adrock/Meghan give the Four Seasons the last boost they need; “Oh What An Night (December 1963)” grabs the win, 162.33-160.20. Bob Dylan- eliminated! Say what?
Finally, the Muse-Boss battle. Bruce going for a first round sweep, and Muse going for retribution after an early loss last tournament. I just went through every score again to make sure this is right- it is. One of these songs won by 0.06 points.
Wait for it.
Wait for it.
Almost ready.

Back in the day day
Bam. “Incident on 57th Street” holds off six straight votes in “New Born”‘s favor and wins this one, 142.21-142.15. I kid you not. Thank MDub’s 6.51 for Bruce for the strange differential. Springsteen completes his 4 songs from 4 albums Round of 256 sweep- that said, 57th Street advances with a paltry 5.92 average.
Out of the tournament: Salt N Pepa, Bob Dylan, Muse. Van Morrison finished 1-2. And that’s a Round wrap! Time for me to crunch some numbers and get these new brackets up. Look for them tomorrow!
Damnit …I was hoping at least one of my songs would make it to the next round (muse). I guess I can take solace that it was a very close fight.
I fell victim to one of the classic PCMT blunders – The most famous of which is ‘never get involved in a land war in Asia’ … but only slightly less well-know is this: ‘Never go against The Boss’
