Round of 256: Division N, Left Side Results

Oof- not the highest scores for the 4th of July weekend, but at least we had 20+ voters. High score goes to the Boss, who extends his Round of 256 streak to 2-0 as “Hungry Heart” reduces Pixies’ “Bone Machine” to…well, to bones. Springsteen advances, 154.6-104.

Second big gap win goes to Iron Horse, as “Dramamine” numbs Cowboy Mouth to sleep, 128.5-99.6. That said, the bluegrass tune lags over a point in average score behind the Boss, so those Alabama boys better get to practicing that fiddle before heading off to their Round of 128 away game at Asbury Park.

On the top side of the bracket were the closer match-ups. The Lou Reed-Joe Cocker fight went back and forth all weekend, but in the battle of contemporaries Reed and “Perfect Day” ended up on top, 133.7-130.75.

Last, in the country battle Randy Travis proves he earned his star on the Country Music Walk of Fame. “Look Heart No Hands” defeats “Here’s To The Meantime,” 114-107.45.

Ousted: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and Cowboy Mouth. Pixies finish the Round of 256 1-2, and Joe Cocker splits at 1-1. We’ll see Spell On You and Roswell in the next round.

About g-mo

The day I was born, Michael Jackson's Thriller album was at the top of the Billboard 200. I've been trying my best to live up to that expectation ever since.
