I don’t know if anyone adopted MIA for this tourney, but I really don’t like this remix or the second verse. On the other hand, Numbencore is probably my favorite mash-up. And this version won a Grammy in 2006, in case anyone forgot.

We Didn’t Start the Fire –7 The chorus started to wear on me. Usually dig it a lot.
Maggie Mae – 9 I LOVE how he calls out the morning sun for showing her age. In a love song. It’s up there with “You ain’t a beauty, but hey you’re alright.” Oh, and she stole his soul, and that’s a pain he could do without.
White Man in Hammersmith Palais – 9. “I’m the all night, drug-prowling wolf, who looks so sick in sun” is one of the best rock lines of all-times.
You’d think that because I make the match-ups I’d do a better job not pitting songs I love against each other. Frankly, they just made for an even battle, and they delivered on that.
Encore – 8 Totally with Guillermo, you have to put aside your feelings on Linkin’ Park and acknowledge how smoothly this mash-up came together.
Paper Planes – 7 Picked the wrong version, as I explain in the Results post. I’m scoring this version, only because MIA is gonna win anyway.
Graceland – 6.5 Such a sweet song, but was just moving too slow for me tonight.
Hurricane – 8 The story’s just so great if you haven’t heard it in a while.
Patience – 7 That last minute is so good, it’s just a matter of getting there before you lose interest.
