Round of 128: Division N Results

No surprises here, but happy that the scores are back in the above average IQ equivalent range. Much welcome to new voters Salem from college and Suspicious Package, who I think I met once. Come on come all, and tell your friends we will be in the Round of 64 shortly!

Phil Collins had no problems at all with Crooked Still, as “In The Air Tonight” advances 161.9-148. However, he plummets on his last round average of 7.21 with some late “fail” scores. Chris Roomba and Suspicious Package put this one on the Wall, but this is looking too divisive to go much further unless the naysayers get on the Phil train.

Josh Ritter, did your luck run out? This match is too close to call right now so I’ll have to construct this sentence in a way that is easy to change using my phone around 8. If the match had ended at 6:25 PM, “One Big Holiday” would have won, 144.5-141.15. In the end, the outcome was (a) the same (MMJ won), or (b) different (Josh Ritter won). The answer is: a! By a hair. 158-157.15.

Some fun facts about “Clint Eastwood” the song. It’s a homage to the movie “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly,” in which Eastwood uses the phrase “sunshine in a bag” to describe a satchel filled with gold that he carries. The monkey holler sound at the beginning of the song is an audio clip from the movie as well. So many mysteries in music. Gorillaz advance, eliminating “Yamore,” 158.1-122.75.

“Hungry Heart” eliminates the SK6ERS, 154-141.8. After a flawless Round of 256, the Boss ran into some trouble this time around but still finishes 2-2 (along with “Atlantic City.”)

About g-mo

The day I was born, Michael Jackson's Thriller album was at the top of the Billboard 200. I've been trying my best to live up to that expectation ever since.
