Steve Miller shakes peach trees and the competition
A lot of close match-ups but no upsets here. The blow-out for the division proves the re-seeding is a good predictor of victory: #1 seed “The Joker” by the Steve Miller Band defeats #8 seed “Forgiven” by Alanis Morisette by 66.1 points, 184.45 to 118.30.
The rest of the match ups were all within 10 points. The closest match-up was also the lowest-scoring. Etta James’s “I’d Rather Go Blind” defeats New Order’s “Temptation” by 7.1 points, 151.20 to 144.10. I guess when even the guy who goes by Ian Curtis didn’t give the edge to New Order, you know they don’t have too good a shot.
Otis Redding proves that is love really is strong: “That’s

New Order couldn't tempt our voters
how Strong My Love Is” defeats “The Kids aren’t Alright” by the Offspring by 8.2 points, 160.27 to 152.05.
And finally, it did not turn out to be a Perfect Day for Lou Reed, who lost to The Strokes’ “Someday” by 8.7 points, 167.20 to 158.49.
All today’s losers are out of the tournament: Alanis Morisette, Lou Reed, the Offspring, and New Order.
