Golden Slumbers Medley (Beatles) 10**** (Issue: This is three songs and is divided up as a such on the album, unlike say, Bohemian Rhapsody or Paranoid Android. Golden Slumbers and Carry the Weight were recorded together, but The End wasn’t. I don’t know if it’s fair to link the back half of the album together just because they fade into each other, even if they do it seamlessly….and others say the medley isn’t just these three but everything from Sun King on on the record…. thoughts on this?)

It’s definitely a point worth addressing. I have seen them listed as a four-song medley on Top Songs of Alltime lists. This version of the medley comes out to 5:40, which is comparable to songs like Rhapsody and Android. The End kind of has to be included- it doesn’t really stand alone. And a full 16 minute version of the medley would have less of a case as a single song for tournament purposes…

Wow, AC/DC really rocks. I already knew this, but in comparison to alot of these songs, its night and day how badass this song is. Cyndi also rocks, but her song hasn’t aged quite like the fine wine that is You Shook Me All Night Long.

After a month of deliberation, we decided on this Tom Waits song as the most accessible for this tournament. Which made me happy, as I too am one that definitively always takes the long way home. Even if this one goes down too, I’m happy everyone heard it. On the other hand, I am getting absolutely sick of the Beatles.
