I never appreciated Kashmir, maybe that’s a mistake…it’s just so f-ing long. Tiny Dancer, wow…so I got some flak from a voter for my S&G America score last week, on the basis of “how can you give it that score? haven’t you ever seen Almost Famous?” And I sorta felt sad about that, because I love Almost Famous, but for Tiny Dancer more than any other Golden God, S&G, anything else moment. Seriously though- everything in life becomes good when I hear Tiny Dancer.

The story of Sloop John B is a little cool, and has a pretty good associated Wikipedia article. The story of Let It Be just blew my mind out of the water of this coffee shop. During the making of The White Album, when the Beatles were fighting a lot, Paul McCartney had a dream one night. His mother, who passed away when he was 14, came to him and said: “It will be all right, Paul. Just let it be.” And that gave him the inspiration to write this song. Oof^2.
Actually, on two more listens, change Let It Be to a 10. I needed this one today.

Kashmir’s first 4 minutes are like an 8… but damn that just went on and on… wonder what they were on at the time. Tiny dancer has highs (beginning and end) but a sort of soft middle to me. All in all, not really possessed of a strong opinion either way.
