Regulate: [8.5] I have no idea why I love this song so much, but it really brings back memories.
Empire: [5] Not a fan of Jay-Z, his braggadocio gets old quick, and his cocky voice grates. Nice refrain though if you’re a BigApplite.

Ohio: [8] Kickass instrumentals, frustrating vocals. If these guys had the post-production help all the songs since 1990 had, it would melt in your ears.
    American Woman: [8.5] Rockin’ Anthem.

Moondance: [8.5] So sweet, so cool. Didn’t realize this was Van Morrison, love this song though! What is Natch magic?
Long Black Veil: [6.5] Love the farting tuba, not feeling the vocals. Kinda cheesy keyboards. Good song, not as listenable as Van.

Take the Money and Run: [8] Wow, two of my favorite songs by two of my favorite Steves! Dig the narrative of this one. Not their best instrumentals. Solid entry.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered: [9] By far the catchiest refrain this week, kickass funky instrumentals, the best vocal range with Stevie hitting sweet notes across the spectrum. Stevie will not be denied in this competition!

Army: [7] Nice piano work. Great narrative. Pleasant surprise, not a huge Ben Folds fan, but I may listen to this some more.
California Dreamin: [8] Classic. More dated than some of the entries from this era, hits high on the nostalgia meter.

Regulate (Warren G. ) 5.5 v. Empire State of Mind (Jay-Z) 7: Regulate is an old favorite but can’t hang with the recent classic from Jay. I’m a partisan New Yorker and New York anthems get me every time.

Ohio (CSNY) 7.5 v. American Woman (Guess Who) 6 : The anger may be dripping from both of these, but the righteous indignation of Ohio makes me want to get bigger speakers for my car and just drive around all day with it on.

Moondance (Van Morrison) 6 v. Long Black Veil (Band) 7: that organ intro. damn.

Take the Money and Run (Stevie Miller Band) 5 v. Signed, Sealed, Delivered (Stevie Wonder) 8. No contest.

Army (Ben Folds) 6 v. California Dreamin (Mamas and the Papas) 3: Love the construction of Army. A lot of instrumentation well executed. Also, I can’t lie, California Dreamin pisses me off.

    Army: 5
    California Dreamin: 8

    Regulate (Warren G. ) 6 v. Empire State of Mind (Jay-Z) 8
I mean, you have to love warren g for this. But empire state? why is this in the play in round? I’m so confused by everything thats happening.
chords strings we bring melody g funk RIP

Ohio (CSNY) 7 v. American Woman (Guess Who) 6
I mean, I’m still morning Neil from the helpless debacle (there better be more last waltz in this thing- anything from LW automatically gets a +2 in my book which could result in caravan scoring at least an 11)

Moondance (Van Morrison) 4 v. Long Black Veil (Band) 7
Ugh. I LOVE me some van. LOVE. but moondance? sorry buddy. Call me when caravan, st. dominic’s preview or wavlength shows up. Something with a little more coke and a little less sweet sixteen father-daughter dance soundtrack in it.

Take the Money and Run (Stevie Miller Band) 6 v. Signed, Sealed, Delivered (Stevie Wonder) 7

Army (Ben Folds) 6 v. California Dreamin (Mamas and the Papas) 4

I can’t remember who, but someone lobbied to include the Band’s version about a week ago. The Johnny Cash version is great too, but he has more songs than the Band currently.
