Day 2 featured three incredibly tight battles and two blow-outs.
Little Birds (Bob Marley) def. In the Summertime (Mongo Jerry), 100-96. In the battle of chillaxing, these songs see-sawed till the end.
Basket Case (Green Day) def. Boys on the Docks (Dropkick Murphys), 105-102. Nostalgia triumphed over traditional punk in this narrow contest.
Stop in the Name of Love (Supremes) def. Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell), 94-93. People went pretty partisan on this battle of two of music’s top ladies, Diana and Joni.
Crazy (Gnarls Barkely) def. Optimistic (Radiohead), called early. Radiohead fans complained I picked an unworthy track from the Kid A era, but they will have more chances.
Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers) def. Catch the Wind (Donovan), called early. I agree with many of you that Unchained Melody is a great song- but going into it I was worried that some of you would be cheesed out by it. Not the case.
